3DGS - T-72 - Cobi model

I’m working on a methodology for creating 3DGS models of small objects: models, fine technical parts, and complex shapes.

A somewhat inherent trait of Gaussian splatting is that it works a bit better for large-scale subjects: spaces, buildings, big machines. LichtFeld 0.5.4 definitely changes that picture.

I used a dataset that a few weeks ago I used to create a model for the service’s MVP. The result was decent but had quite a few shortcomings. Now, a new 3DGS model trained in LF 0.5.4 is orders of magnitude better, even though the input data is the same.
